Help Build the Future of Our Community

Our community is growing, and with that growth comes a need for better facilities, services and spaces for people of all ages. The Community Centre feasibility study(click here) completed in 2026 and funded under the government's LEADER Programme has helped identify the opportunities ahead of us—but turning those plans into reality will require the whole community to play a part.

We are launching this fundraising campaign to build a community match-funding fund, giving us the ability to apply for larger grants and investment opportunities. Many grant programmes require communities to contribute a percentage of the overall project cost themselves. By raising funds locally, we can put ourselves in a stronger position to unlock significantly greater levels of external funding.

Our initial target: €44,200 over five years

Our goal is to build a fund of €44,200 over five years through small, regular donations from members of the community.

For example, if just 65 people contributed regularly:

• 5 people giving €10 per week

• 10 people giving €5 per week

• 20 people giving €2 per week

• 30 people giving €1 per week

Together, these contributions would raise €170 per week, or €44,200 over five years.

What could this achieve?

Where a grant programme requires approximately 10% match funding, a community fund of €44,200 could potentially help support an overall project investment of around €442,000 into our community. The exact match-funding requirements will depend on the individual grant programme, but the principle is simple:

Small local contributions can help unlock much larger investment for our community.

We aim to use this community fund to support projects such as:

• A new creche and childcare facilities for local families.

• Walking trails and footpaths to make our area safer, healthier and better connected, as highlighted by our community's children who took part in the feasibility study.

• A modern, state-of-the-art Community Centre, providing space for activities, services, events and community organisations.

• Future recreational, social, youth and community facilities identified as our area continues to grow.

Every contribution—whether €1, €2, €5 or €10 per week—will help build the financial foundation needed to pursue these opportunities.

Together, we can achieve more

We cannot expect grants alone to build everything our growing community needs. By coming together and making small, regular contributions, we can demonstrate that our community is willing to invest in its own future—and give ourselves the strongest possible chance of securing much larger external investment.
